Project Revisit: Gold Coast Houses

Project Revisit Gold Coast Houses Abodo Wood
We paid a visit to three Gold Coast houses to see how they’d aged after five years, with no maintenance.

Over five years ago we supplied three beautiful houses on the Gold Coast with our Vulcan Timber Cladding and timber battens, all coated in our Protector Oil ‘Patina’.

Our Protector Oil ‘Patina’ is a coating developed especially for use on our Vulcan timber, and has been designed so that there’s a more seamless transition as the timber weathers to a natural grey.

The coating has been designed to also allow a more even weathering between ‘less exposed’ and ‘highly exposed’ surfaces.

Protector Oil ‘Patina’ does allow longer periods between maintenance coats, but because it’s an oil, it will dissipate over time leaving the timber more susceptible to; mould growth, surface cracking, and slight movement.

Ideally the timber is maintained at least every three to four years.
