Timber Design Awards – We’re on Point

The sleep out was commissioned by owner Marty Verry as a child friendly space – with low toxicity building materials being of utmost importance.

A key feature of the house is the Vulcan natural wood weatherboards. Vulcan is a beautiful locally grown alternative to imported Western Red Cedar, and is extremely stable and durable.

The weatherboards were supplied by Abodo factory coated with a specially formulated Protector plant-based oil finish – with zero VOC’s.

“It is great to see recognition of this new, 'home grown' technology from the design community” explains Abodo’s Technical Director, Ben Campbell.
